Miles for Soul 5K Celebration is Soul Trak Outdoors’ annual gathering of movement, wellness, and community power. This year's race will be held at Anacostia Park. This inclusive run/walk brings together participants, supporters, and partners to celebrate every mile moved in support of equitable access to the outdoors.

The 5K is the culminating event of our Miles for Soul Virtual Challenge (April - May), where individuals and teams log miles in ways that feel right to them, walking, hiking, biking, or running.

Miles for Soul - Virtual Challenge

Not local? Want to start early? This summer-long virtual challenge is your way to join the movement from wherever you are. Rally your team, rack up miles, and compete with others for fun awards and bragging rights on race day.

 How It Works

  • Form a Team: Up to 5 people per team. Recruit your crew starting in June!

  • Track Your Miles: Log walks, runs, hikes — every mile counts.

  • Use RunSignup: Easy manual input system (Strava optional).

  • Team Spirit: Make your own shirts, share your progress, and join virtual meetups.

Prizes awarded on race day for:

  • Most miles (team + individual)

Join Soul Trak Outdoors for our flagship community event — a morning of movement, music, and purpose! The Miles for Soul 5K is more than just a race — it's a call to action to support equitable access to the outdoors and to uplift the community through collective movement.

 What to Expect

  • A scenic 5K route through Anacostia Park

  • Vendor Village 

  • Music and warm-up activities led by community ambassadors

  • Soulful vibes and good energy all morning

All proceeds go toward Soul Trak programming, expanding outdoor leadership opportunities for historically excluded communities.

Participation Fee: $30 
Parking: Parking lot available onsight, carpooling encouraged

Moments That Keep Us Moving

  • What I personally took away from todays program was there’s nothing I can’t accomplish, I don’t believe I would have actually gotten out here on my own & walked 5 miles, Soul Trak gave me the confidence to know I can do ANYTHING!!!
  • Great event great experience like trying hoka shoes liked them a lot
  • This was my first Soul Track event and I had so much fun! I was pretty nervous because I came alone, but everyone was so welcoming and friendly. I’m glad I found the courage to come to the event.
