In September, we’re looking forward to starting the month by welcoming new volunteers through our Fall Volunteer Orientation, giving them a chance to connect with Soul Trak staff and learn more about our mission. We’ll also be hosting our Family Paddling Day on the Potomac, a wonderful opportunity for families to try something new, spend time together, and create lasting memories on the water. And as always, we’ll continue building community through our Top Rope Climbing Meet-Up program!

August was all about reaching new heights! We kicked things off with a kayaking program for 26 youth ages 7–14 in partnership with Good Projects. Many of the kids had joined us in May for youth kayaking with DCHA and returned for another round of paddling fun. We also wrapped up our White Water Kayaking program, welcoming 12 new kayakers to the water!
As the end of August approached, we had a jam-packed week of adventure. We welcomed five leaders from the Environmental Leaders Fellowship and College Ambassador cohorts to Moab, Utah, for a transformative week of hiking, canyoneering, rock climbing, and rafting down the Colorado River. Back in D.C., we hosted 20+ Howard University students at the Georgetown Waterfront for kayaking and community-building before the semester kicks off. We also joined Fight for Children for a Youth Sports Day, complete with tent setup workshops, giveaways, and lots of Leave No Trace games.
Our signature climbing programs continued as well. Monthly Bouldering Night and Top Rope Climbing brought together returning faces and new participants, all showing up to challenge themselves, build strength, and cheer each other on.
Thank you to everyone who showed up this month—to paddle, hike, move, and be reach new heights We’re grateful to keep growing together!
See you in September!
