Soul Trak Welcomes Four New Leaders!

Soul Trak Outdoors is thrilled to welcome four new leaders into our community this season! Our newest cohort includes College Ambassadors Asia Smith and Mya Love, along with Environmental Leaders Fellows Glenn Hall and Catrya Young, each bringing unique experiences, passion, and commitment to advancing outdoor access and environmental justice.

Soul Trak College Ambassadors, Asia and Mya, are students at Howard University and will play a key role in strengthening campus outreach, engaging fellow students, and encouraging more young people to explore the outdoors. Through event support, storytelling, and peer-to-peer engagement, they help foster a culture of adventure, wellness, and environmental appreciation within the college community. Environmental Leaders Fellows, Glenn and Catrya, are native Washingtonians who bring deep connections to the city and a shared commitment to community-centered environmental leadership. As Fellows, they will participate in an immersive leadership development program that includes facilitating Soul Trak programs, engaging in outdoor activities, and building certifiable skills that support long-term growth in the environmental and outdoor sectors.

Together, this leadership cohort will support Soul Trak programming, expand our reach, and help build a more inclusive and connected outdoor community. We are excited to work alongside them and look forward to the impact they will make throughout the year.

Please join us in welcoming Asia, Mya, Glenn, and Catrya to the Soul Trak Team!

2026 Environmental Leaders Fellows

Catrya Young

Catrya is a D.C. native, archivist, and visual artist whose work centers community memory, creativity, and care. She is the co-founder of Native Tourist DC, co-editor of BloomPrint Illuminated—an archive of reflections and activities from the Colored Girls Lab—and a volunteer with Lederer Community Gardens.

She facilitates creative circles and brings over 20 years of personal practice in yoga and biking to her work, approaching wellness as a collective and liberatory practice. Through her involvement with Soul Trak, she is committed to designing a life that centers liberation, connection to land, and community-rooted outdoor experiences.

Glenn Hall

I am a third-generation Washingtonian who is passionate about empowering his Ward 8 community through education on a wide range of issues that impact them, but especially environmental and food justice-related issues. I have my Master’s in Urban Agriculture from the University of the District of Columbia and hope to pursue my Doctorate in the near future. But my path hasn’t always been this clear. Immediately after graduating from Lincoln University in 2021 with a degree in Mass Communications, I felt lost and sought a deeper purpose in life, one that would benefit the community that had helped shape me into who I am today. I have always been passionate about the outdoors, gardening, nature, etc., but I never knew that this could be a viable career path until I saw the various climate leaders, community activists, and farmers who took a stand for their communities during the pandemic/uprisings in 2020.

I was truly inspired by these leaders and realized that I could also make a difference in the world through the interconnected issues of the environment and our food systems. Since then, deciding to pursue my dreams has taken me so many places, and I have been afforded so many opportunities I could have only imagined. Through this fellowship with Soul Trak, my goal is to share this same passion and what I have been able to learn with individuals from my community and beyond who face similar struggles. I do what I do in hopes that they can also realize their power and the valuable role we all can play in shaping a better world, because we will need all the hands and voices we can get!

2026 Spring College Ambassador Cohort

Asia Smith

Asia Smith is a junior biology major with a chemistry minor from Belleville, Michigan attending Howard University. Smith intends to pursue an MD-Ph.D. with the objective of becoming an anesthesiologist with a specialty in obstetrics, along with clinical research in pharmacology and neuroscience. Outside of her studies, she enjoys going on walks, bouldering, and discovering new music. Smith’s love for the outdoors stems from her early childhood where she played four sports and spent lots of time exploring her neighborhood.

As a college ambassador, she looks forward to bringing her love for the outdoors to her peers by informing them about ways to get involved. Smith is excited to meet new people and take part in initiatives that impact the greater DC community

Mya Love

Mya Love is a History and Sociology double major at Howard University. She developed her love for the environment through after-school programs that encouraged exploration of nature. As an adult, Mya finds peace and healing in nature and believes everyone deserves access to those experiences. She is excited to help bring more Black people into outdoor spaces and to serve the DC community. Fun fact: Mya enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and biking.
