Reflections from Soul Trak 2026 Leaders – Feburary 2026

We’re excited to spotlight the contributions of our 2026 Environmental Leadership Fellows: Catrya, Glenn, Asia, and Mya — each of whom has brought care, creativity, and commitment to our work this season. From event support to community engagement, their leadership has helped bring our mission to life in meaningful ways.

This month, we are excited to share reflections from our Soul Trak Leaders, Environmental Leadership Fellows, and College Ambassadors Cohort, who are offering fresh insights from their first months with Soul Trak Outdoors. Below, our Fellows highlight key lessons learned and observations from recent programs, including our Leaders Retreat, Black History Month Film Night, Bouldering Night, and Top Rope Climbing.

We’re excited to continue amplifying their voices as the year unfolds!

February Programs Reflection

Glenn Hall | 2026 Environmental Leaders Fellows

In my second month as an environmental fellow, I have mainly been busy planning our first event, our gardening 101 event. Going through this process alongside Catrya reminded me of just how many moving parts go into any planning process, and these moving parts might not make sense in the beginning, but as the planning process moves on, things all fall into place, and the bigger picture of a great program starts to take shape. I say all that to say that I am looking forward to this event being a success, and I can’t wait to talk with attendees about their gardening plans after being a part of this event.

This month, I also got to attend Bouldering Night again, which was really cool because I was able to bring my younger sister, who has been telling me for the longest time that she has been searching for ways to not only be more active but also social. So to see her having a great time and connecting with fellow attendees was amazing. She will be back for next month and hopefully beyond. I am starting to feel more at home with climbing, from just the two times I have gone, and this time around, I even decided to get a month pass to come back more often. Also, it was really rewarding to hear that my sister had such a nice time that she will be back for next month and hopefully beyond that. Another highlight for me this month was going to the Black History Month Film Night at Hart Middle School. It was such a nostalgic experience for me because I went to Hart Middle School more than a decade ago, and things still felt the same. It was truly surreal to be sitting back in the seats I was in when I was younger and seeing the students getting ready to watch the films we were showing that could potentially spark their passion for the outdoors, just like the science teachers I had at Hart did for me.

My final highlight for the month is that I am now Wilderness First Aid Certified! Our instructors, Brittany and Rachel from Back Country Pulse were amazing and made learning the content fun and meaningful. Overall, I feel extremely confident in my skills and in lending a hand should an emergency arise in an outdoor setting or really any setting.
