College Ambassador Cohort 2023

Ashanti is a junior at Howard University from Fairhope, Alabama, majoring in Architecture. Ashanti is interested in designing sustainable community developments and exploring the integration of architecture and the environment. When Ashanti is not doing schoolwork, Ashanti enjoys hiking, painting, reading, and hanging out with friends. Through Soul Trak CAC, Ashanti hopes to foster a campus environment that prioritizes outdoor time and conservation efforts.

Jayla is from Pomona, California. Jayla currently attends Howard University as a freshman environmental studies major. Jayla is deeply passionate about the environment issues and making green spaces more accessible to BIPOC. After Jayla graduates her goal is to return back to my hometown and organize around creating a community garden for more people to grow their own food and learn about sustainable agricultural practices.

Shaun is a sophomore psychology major at Howard University. Shaun grew up in New York City, more specifically Brooklyn/Manhattan (if you’re familiar). Shaun believes in the mission of Soul Trak and appreciates the initiative of those dedicated to fostering environmental communities and educating those that feel unable to partake in outdoor activities.

Sydney is a junior political science major/military science minor from Atlanta Georgia. Sydney is a part of Howard’s Army ROTC program and currently serves as the communications manager for the HU Women’s Rugby Club. Sydney loves hiking, fishing, and watching football on Sunday.

Trevaris is a junior Health Science major, Biology minor at Howard University, from Charleston, South Carolina. Trevaris hopes to peak interests within the different facets of the medical field with black/brown youths by becoming a cardiovascular perfusionist. There is so much more to the medical field than just being a doctor and he is motivated to teach others about what he has found. Outside of being a medical professional hopeful, he enjoys learning about black history, going outdoors, doing things that get his heart racing, and cooking/baking for himself and others. Most of all he loves encouraging other individuals that look like himself of all ages to come outdoors and see what it has to offer.
