This month we are excited to host our monthly Bouldering Night event at the DC Bouldering Project, an Invasive Species Removal off of Langston Golf Course Driving Range, and a Father’s Day Fishing Program. Looking forward to seeing everyone at these great opportunities this month!
Next we have our monthly Bouldering Night at the Bouldering Project-DC on Eckington Pl in NE Washington on Sunday, June 2 from 4-6pm. The event has moved from first Wednesday to first Sunday of the month. Bouldering Night is a community centered program offered at no cost to the first 25 Soul Trak participants, community members thereafter pay an entry fee but receive free rentals. We’re looking forward to seeing new faces at our popular climbing event. Volunteers are available to show first-timers how to boulder.
Volunteers will join the Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS) for a Weed Wrangle Habitat Restoration Workday! During this workday volunteers will help AWS with their invasive plant control and revegetation efforts along the riverside area of Kingman Island at Langston Golf Course. By participating in this project you will not only have the opportunity to learn about invasive plants and the ecology of the Anacostia River, you will help to improve the habitat for wildlife and the water quality of the Anacostia River.
Physical Level of Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult
This event will likely involve lifting, bending and walking. If you think any of the physical requirements will be problematic, please let us know.
You can find all our June programs on our events page. We look forward to seeing you in the outdoors!
