I still remember a story someone told at one of the first SoulTrak events I attended. I think the story was told by Tyrhee (founder of SoulTrak), I am not too certain though. We were sharing what nature was to us and how we found nature anywhere around us while growing up. The person narrated that growing up, nature was the grass growing out of a crack in their neighborhood basketball court. To others, nature was playing outside all day and feeling the sun rays on their skin. To me, nature was looking up at the clouds in a car on busy roads.
In this period of uncertainty, little pieces of nature have been everything to me and anywhere I dreamed to look. The peace that nature brings has come to me from simple things like opening my blinds to let the sun in, looking at the sunset, going outside, and feeling the wind on my way to the corner store to grabbing a friend or two and going on a safe hike. And especially just sitting under the sun with a lovely friend by my side.
Finding peace and serenity in little pockets has helped to bring me calm in this tumultuous period. I am learning to never hesitate to breathe, stop, and look. Nature is anywhere you need it to be.
