Soul Trak and Seneca Rocks Climbing School are excited to host our second annual advanced climbing opportunity at Seneca Rocks, WV. Multi-pitch climbing is a type of rock climbing that typically takes place on routes that are more than a single rope length (circa 50 to 70 meters) in height (or distance), and thus where the lead climber cannot complete the climb as a single pitch. Seneca Rocks is one of the best-known landmarks in West Virginia. These rocks have long been noted as a scenic attraction and are popular with rock climbers. The rocks are a magnificent formation rising nearly 900 feet above the North Fork River. The climb will take place on the 17th (subject to change due to weather), and expect to spend all day on the wall climbing; bring an extra layer for warmth/weather protection as well as water and snacks.
Soul Trak is hosting our 2023 Fall Youth Adventure Cohort this Spring for children between the ages of 11-14. This 6 session program will consist of a series of exciting activities led by Soul Trak staff and program partners. The outings will take place on Sunday mornings and culminate in an overnight camping weekend. The Youth Cohort is a great opportunity to initiate their bonding experience as rising outdoor enthusiasts and further their learning around leadership, sustainability, and outdoor recreational activities that promote teamwork, skill building, and expand our tolerance for adversity. Their activities are hiking, urban gardening, camping with zip-lining, and white-water rafting in West Virginia, an Anacostia boat tour, and outdoor climbing at Carderock. All programs, equipment, group meals, camp lodging, and ground transport will be covered for youth.
We still have a few spots available for the US Virgin Island Service Trip this November. So do sign up so you don’t miss out!
